Department Description

SES Teaching Image The Department of Specialized Education Studies offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in Special Education. A Bachelor's degree is available in Education of the Deaf (Teacher Preparation or Educational Interpreter) and Special Education: General Curriculum. Two M.Ed. programs Special Education: General Curriculum and Birth-Kindergarten: Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (a program jointly administered with the Department of Human Development and Family Studies), are also offered. A Ph.D. program in Specialized Education is now being offered. Graduates of programs in Specialized Education Services are prepared for diverse roles in a variety of educational and community environments. They will be prepared to work with individuals with disabilities across the life span.
