Madan M. Vasishta, Ph.D., Director

Madan Vasishta retired from New Mexico as superintendent two years ago after 25 years as an administrator and teacher. He chaired the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools & Programs for the Deaf (CEASD) residential living committee and has made presentations on a variety of issues internationally.


Susan K. Roberts, Assistant Director

Susan has experience as an education consultant and in marketing. She also is a RID certified interpreter for the deaf (CI/CT) and has 15 years experience interpreting in mental health, education, and medical areas.


Shannon Reese, Resource Trainer

Former Assistant Director for the Gallaudet University Regional Center in Massachusetts, where she developed and presented workshops and conferences relating to the area of deafness. She has had varied experiences working with the deaf/hard of hearing clients in a mental health setting and is a Nationally Certified Counselor.



All CAPE staff members have received extensive training in the area of prevention of child sexual abuse with specialization in the area of deaf/hard of hearing by nationally recognized experts.
