The decision to use a fire extinguisher in an attempt to control even a small trash can fire should only be contemplated if the fire is small and you have been trained on extinguisher use.  This tutorial will give you information on UNCG's Fire Emergency Procedures, how fire extinguishers are maintained, and finally how to use one to extinguish a small fire.  Training classes are offered by the Office of Safety on fire extinguisher use and include using an actual extinguisher as shown in the picture above.  At the end of this tutorial you will be asked to submit an email with specific information to verify your completion.  This will be kept on file in the Office of Safety.
