What Happy Faces Are Hiding: Talking About Depression

PRESENTER Ross Szabo
DATE September 10
(Suicide Prevention Day)
TIME 7:00 p.m.
LOCATION Science Building
Room 101

Whether we see it or not, depression affects college campuses. One in ten college students experiences depression, and many admit feeling overwhelmed. Depression can lead to alcohol and drug abuse, and even to suicide, the second leading cause of death among college students.

Speaker Ross Szabo discusses depression, using his own experiences with bipolar disorder to relate to those struggling with mental health issues. He shares his story with campuses nationwide, using humor and insight to discuss topics which are often difficult to talk about openly.
