Jonathan Ravarino, Ph.D., LCSW, joined The Counseling & Testing Center staff in August 2008. Prior to coming to UNCG he completed a 12-month internship in clinical psychology at the Counseling and Psychological Services at Duke University. Jonathan is dually licensed as a therapist, with graduate degrees in Counseling Psychology (Ph.D.) and Social Work (MSW) from the University of Utah. Jonathan approaches therapy and outreach efforts from an interpersonal and systems perspective, which places special emphasis on how individuals and student groups understand multicultural identities in a changing environment. Jonathan has a strong interest in social justice issues and serves as a co-adviser to Men Creating Change, a student organization that addresses unhealthy forms of masculinity through peer education and authentic relationship building with men. A growing clinical interest of Jonathan’s work includes helping students learn mindfulness meditation as a way to manage addictive behavior and anxiety-related conditions.
