What is Friends Helping Friends™?

Friends Helping Friends™ was created in 2009 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in collaboration with securing a suicide prevention grant from the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Our Mission

Friends Helping Friends™ Has a Mission of:
  • Empowering students to better understand mental health concerns.
  • Empowering students to effectively assist peers in gaining access to professional counseling services during times of distress.
