Cost and Coverage
Effective August 1, 2007 - July 31, 2008
The plan will cost $730 per year (August 1, 2007 - July 31, 2008). Students covered already by their own or their family's plan will simply verify the policy through a secure on-line system by providing a current valid health insurance policy number. The insurance premium charge will appear on your bill along with tuition and fees, $365 per semester. Summer coverage is included in the Spring term charge.
These are the highlights of the university endorsed plan, managed by Pearce and Pearce:
- $100,000.00 coverage per sickness or injury per policy year
- 100% coverage for services associated with sickness or injury at Student Health Services (no deductible and no co-pay)
- Prescriptions covered 100% up to $500.00 on at Student Health Services Pharmacy
- Prescriptions filled at outside pharmacies covered up to $500.00 with $10/$25 Co-pays
- $10.00 co-pay on all outpatient services associated with sickness or injury outside the Student Health Services
- ER co-pay: $150.00
- Immunizations covered up to $100.00 annually for Hepatitis B and Meningitis (SHS only)
- $300.00 annual deductible for services outside of Student Health Services
- 80% coverage for allowable services within the Preferred Provider Network (MedCost)
- 60% coverage for allowable services outside the MedCost network
- Allowable services associated with an Intercollegiate Athletics injury are covered up to $3,000.00 (the Intercollegiate Athletics insurance plan deductible)
