Massage Therapy is the manipulation of muscles and other soft tissue to reduce stress, tension, anxiety, and promote a feeling of general well being. Modern massage techniques draw from Eastern and Western healing traditions.

The Wellness Center of Student Health Services now offers chair massage to University offices and student groups. Chair massages can be from 5-minute to 30-minute sessions per employee. The cost is $50/hour per massage therapist. If your department would like to provide chair massage to your employees or group members, please contact Beth Hoagland, LMBT at 558-3582 to arrange scheduling. Student Health Services will coordinate billing, via interdepartmental invoice.

Julie is a UNCG alumna, received her massage training at Alexandar School of Natural Therapeutics in Tacoma, WA and has completed advanced training in pregnancy and infant massage. Her practice at UNCG focuses on massage for stress reduction and pain relief. Julie is also a registered nurse and enjoys teaching relaxation and massage workshops to groups on campus.

Beth Hoagland received her massage training at Body Therapy Institute and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Her practice at UNCG focuses on Swedish and deep tissue massage. Beth also enjoys workshop settings where she provides chair massage to clients.
Beth is available for appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays.

David is a nationally certified and licensed massage therapist who specializes in Swedish and trigger point therapy.
He utilizes mild stretching and deep tissue massages to form an overall therapeutic and relaxing massage. David Structures each massage based on the individual needs of the client.
