Compulsive Overeating and Other Similar Eating Disorders


Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (EDNOS)


Symptoms/Signs

  • Eating disorders that do not meet the criteria for anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa.
  • For Example:
    • Engaging in bulimic behaviors less frequently than twice per week for three months.
    • For example Engaging in anorexic behaviors but still has regular menstrual cycles.
    • For example Repeatedly chewing and spitting-out, but not swallowing, large amounts of food.
  • COMPULSIVE OVEREATING — binge eating in the absence of regular compensating behaviors (self-induced vomiting, misuse of laxatives, etc.).
