Bill of Rights for GLBT Students
Members of the GLBT community share the following rights with the broader UNCG community:
- The right to attend classes free of verbal and physical harassment, where education, not survival, is the priority.
- The right to attend classes where respect and dignity for all is the standard set by the University’s Administration and enforced by University Administrators.
- The right to have access to accurate information about themselves, free of negative judgement and delivered by adults who not only inform them, but also affirm them.
- The right to positive role models, both in person and in the cirriculum.
- The right to be included in all support programs that exist to help students deal with the difficulties of college life.
- The right to faculty and staff who guarantee and fight for equality in terms of respect, education, safety, and inclusion.
- The right to a campus free of crippling self-hate and unchallenged discrimination.
