Faculty Research Awards and
Teaching Excellence Award

The University offers a variety of grants and awards to support faculty research activities.  Deadlines for these

opportunities occur at various times throughout the year and are generally announced well in advance of the filing

deadline.  A number of awards for teaching excellence are also made on an annual basis.  An alumni teaching

excellence award is given annually to one individual at the senior rank and a second is awarded to a junior faculty

member.  The School of Education offers its own annual teaching award.  The UNC Board of Governors also

offers an annual teaching excellence award to one faculty member from each campus in the UNC system.

Information related to procedures and policies for research and teaching excellence

awards follow.
