About TaskStream

TaskStream is a web-based electronic portfolio application that allows Authors (students) to upload and share work via the World Wide Web.

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Education uses TaskStream’s Folio Assessment System.  The Folio Assessment System is an assessment management system used for tracking the progress of participants as they demonstrate proficiency across predefined requirements.  The two primary components of the Folio Assessment System are the Directed Response Folio (DRF) and the Folio Assessment Program.

The DRF is the folio that outlines requirements and work submissions as well as is the vehicle for submitting and tracking Author work for review and evaluation. DRFs may be evaluated by rubric, pass/fail, or meets requirement/does not meet requirements. TaskStream also has tools which allow Authors to create standards-based lesson plans, evaluation rubrics, and instructional units.

The Folio Assessment Program defines and provides the structure for how Authors work with a selected Directed Response Folio (DRF).

A Program Manager from UNCG-SOE enrolls participants into a Folio Assessment Program and determines if and from whom feedback can be requested as well as how and to whom Authors submit work for evaluation.  TaskStream reports can be generated on Authors in the areas of performance, program activity, and standards usage.
