National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers
North Carolina has adopted the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS-T) for program approval. These standards replace the North Carolina Technology Competencies for Educators that were previously used. The NETS-T were developed by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) as an initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology (PT3) grant program. ISTE has also developed standards for students and administrators.
The NETS-T are used at UNCG for developing teaching and technology portfolios for licensure.
