Faculty, Staff, Student and Alumni Accomplishments
- Sarah Berenson (TEHE) attended the National Science Foundation Advisory Board Meeting of the Video Mosaic Collaborative at Rutgers University September 21-22.
- The following CED alums are authors of articles published in the Fall 2011 issue (vol. 89, no. 4) of the Journal of Counseling and Development. Dr. Casey A. Barrio Minton co-authored "Relative influence of professional counseling journals." Dr. Laura Welfare co-authored, "The authorship determination process in student-faculty collaborative research."
- Catherine Chang, Casey Barrio Minton, Andrea Dixon, Jane Myers and Tom Sweeny (CED alumni and faculty) published a new book titled: Professional Counseling Excellence through Leadership and Advocacy
- Nicole Martin (TEHE) was selected by the editors of The Reading Teacher to respond to important questions for the feature, The Inside Track: “10 Things Every Literacy Educator Should Know About Research”.
- Marge and Jake Michel, of the Michel Family Foundation gave $300,000 to double their endowment of the Teaching Resources Center.
- Camille Wilson (ELC) was an invited speaker at the University of Alabama–Birmingham’s Center for Urban Education. She and Ms. Alison Coker, the Executive Director of Human Resources for Guilford County Schools, presented on “Partnering to Prepare Transformative Teachers in Schools Highly Impacted by Poverty.”

- Marci Rock, Bill Bursuck, Bonnie Billingsley, Stephanie Kurtts, and Mary V. Compton (SES) authored the grant project titled, Linking Important Networks of Knowledge to Lead (Project LINK-2-LEAD). Personnel Development To Improve Services and Results for Children With Disabilities - Preparation of Special Education Leadership Personnel. It received $1,250,000.00 in funding from the Office of Special Education Programs of the U.S. Department of Education.
