Faculty, Staff, Student and Alumni Accomplishments
- Project CONNECT, led by Mary V. Compton, Glenda Torres and Ginger Leon- and Project DUET, led by Mary V. Compton, Judy Niemeyer (Emeritus) and Kathryn Aldridge will continue to receive funding from the US Department of Special Education for 2011-12.
- Carol Mullen (ELC) has accepted the invitation by the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) and the Educational Administration Quarterly (EAQ) editorial team's at Texas A&M University to serve on the EAQ editorial board for ta three-year term.
- Holt Wilson, Kerri Richardson, and three students Ana Floyd, Wendy Rich, and Michelle McCullough (TEHE) worked with Superintendent Diane Frost of Asheboro City Schools, and Tammie Abernethy of Ramseur Elementary School to prepare teachers from McCrary Elementary and Ramseur Elementary as part of the Core-Math project, a partnership between UNCG, Asheboro City Schools, and Ramseur Elementary.
- Karen Stacherski (ELC) has been invited to continue her service on UNCG Staff Senate.
- Rachel Hill (ERM) and Karen Stacherski (ELC) received the Certificate in Essential Supervisory Program (ESP) this summer. In addition, they both will be presented certification from the Equal Employment Opportunity Institute (EEOI) from Raleigh.

- SOE faculty retreat will be on Tuesday, August 30th at 9am in Virginia Dare, Alumni House. Please reply to Annie Smith your availability.

- North Carolina DPI announces Common Core and Essential Standard Institutes for Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) and Community College (CC) Faculty. SOE faculty are encouraged to attend. See flyer here for more information.
- Nominate a deserving graduate for our Distinguished Alumni Awards. The online form may be found here. Contact Melissa Kruep for more information. Nominations are due by Friday, September 2nd.
