2007-2008 Praxis Workshop Dates

All review session dates are on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 5pm-8pm UNCG Campus - Ferguson Building - Room 248. To create an account and pre-register for a workshop, visit the UNCG InfoNow website: http://uncg.infonowonline.org .
You will need to Create a New Account and follow the instructions to Login and Preregister.

To Create an Account on InfoNow:

  1. Select "Create a New Account" from the sidebar menu
  2. Enter a User ID. Press "Submit."
  3. Enter Personal Information and a passcode. Press "Submit."

Admissions

Admission to Deaf, Elementary, Middle Grades, Special Education, and Elementary / Special Education Dual Major


Note: Admission to the University does not guarantee admission to Teacher Education with a major in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction or in the Department of Specialized Education Services.


The following requirements must be met before admission to Teacher Education:

  • A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 at UNCG
  • Completion of at least 12 semester hours at UNCG
  • A grade of C or better in CUI 250 (Elementary/Middle Grades Ed.) OR SES 250 (Special/Deaf Education). Dual majors may take CUI 250 or SES 250.
  • Completion of all courses needed to fulfill the " General Education Core" (GEC) requirements
  • Achievement of minimum score requirements as set by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction on the Pre-Professional Skills Tests (PPST), SAT or ACT.

Applications to deaf, elementary, middle grades and special education are reviewed once per year for admission to professional education courses. The education courses begin in the fall and continue for four consecutive semesters, the fourth semester is student teaching.
