Discovery - Offers rising sophomores a first-hand look at the state. Traveling on buses over 1600 miles for seven days, the Fellows witness every possible area of North Carolina including industry, farms, high tech, corporate, and schools. The Fellows quickly come to realize the diversity of North Carolina, its people, and impact of morally binding customs and economic conditions upon schools in a particular locale.
Junior Conference - Offers the rising juniors a conference that focuses on educational issues and survival skills. Outstanding teachers, identified by the North Carolina Center for Advancement of Teaching, are invited to serve as facilitators and work with small groups of Fellows, discussing students' concerns related to the "real world of teaching".
Junior Enrichment - Offers rising juniors a post-conference experience chosen from a list of 30 options-- ranging from a four day Outward Bound Course, to a mountain relaxation excursions, to exploring the coastal ecology of North Carolina’s Outer Banks, to travel abroad experiences.
Senior Internship - Offers rising seniors an opportunity to participate in a school's orientation week. Interacting with superintendents, curriculum supervisors, and personnel directors, this experience is designed to give students an introduction to the school system community and an understanding of the overall operation of a school district. Many school systems offer paid internships following the Orientation week.
Senior Conference - A final three day conference focusing on a specific theme. Designed to take theory and translate it into practice, the Senior Conference is to help Fellows “Survive and Thrive”, while exploring current education policies and initiatives.
