“I’ve had many wonderful teachers who instilled a passion for music in me. Now I want to share that gift with others.” -Corrie Franklin

Hometown: Asheville, North Carolina

Major: Music Education Major

Thorough & Comprehensive:

“I enjoy being a part of the School of Music and the School of Education because they have excellent reputations, and the coursework is thorough and comprehensive. I am confident that when I graduate, I will be prepared to start my career as an educator.”

Hands-on Classes

“My favorite education class was Teaching Strings Laboratory. The class taught me how to create an effective and positive atmosphere in the classroom and it improved my student assessment skills. The course is hands-on and it helped me become more comfortable in front of the classroom.”

Consistency

“I think great teachers should always have a zeal for their profession and dedication to their students. I also think consistency is a key component of successful teaching. If students know what you expect from them, they can prepare adequately and learn effectively.”
