Molding Top-Notch Professionals
"My family relocated from Fort Worth, Texas, this past year because of a job opportunity for my husband here in Greensboro. I had been attending Texas Wesleyan University and transferred to UNCG. I was especially impressed with the Sullivan Science Center and the state-of-the-art lab facilities. In terms of faculty and equipment, both are the best I've experienced in my preparation to become a teacher."
Inspired to Teach
"Many of my grade school teachers inspired me. Each showed an amazing commitment to students as individuals and each was a consummate professional. Additionally, having my own children and spending more time around children and teens made me realize how much I enjoy being with kids and guiding them as they grow and mature."
A Hands-on Approach
"I participate in the Master Gardener Program through the Agricultural Extension Service in Guilford County. I would like to integrate that type of hands-on gardening experience into relevant science education at the high school level. This might also take the form of a summer camp program or perhaps a garden in a museum setting."
