Major: Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

One of a Kind Program

"I chose UNCG because it was one of the few universities in the state that offered a major in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. My favorite part of being a student in teacher education at UNCG is the care and support I get from my professors. Each one is kind, understanding and willing to help me whenever needed."

Endless Opportunities to Learn

"My favorite education classes are those in which I am able to go into the schools and work with children. I can apply the ideas and concepts I have learned in class and form bonds with wonderful children. UNCG has given me the opportunity to foster a love of lifelong learning that I will carry into my profession as a teacher."

Passion to Teach

"I am passionate about American Sign Language, and I have always wanted to teach. UNCG has given me opportunities to grow my passion and help me learn more about the Deaf Community and its members. I love my major and the wonderful people I get to work with on a daily basis."
