The Graduate Student Association at UNCG has existed in several forms since 1964. Its consistent mission has been to enhance the experience of each graduate student at UNCG, promoting personal and professional growth through educational, developmental, and social activities. All students at UNCG are ipso facto members of the GSA. Currently, the GSA appoints 15-20 graduate student delegates to serve on various committees and advisory bodies throughout the university. We award over $33,000 each year to support graduate student travel and the completion of theses and dissertations. The business of the GSA is conducted by an executive board and a legislature comprised of representatives from the university's 45 graduate degree programs. The GSA is currently working to affiliate with various graduate student groups throughout the university and encourage the formation of new graduate organizations in each program. The executive board and legislature meet three times a semester starting in September each year.
