Lambda Chi Alpha - Phi Theta Zeta - The University of North Carolina at Greensboro
What's New: (03/03/08)
What is Lambda Chi Alpha? For those within the bond, it is quite a rhetorical question.
Lambda Chi Alpha is a group of men who come together to promote the same ideals and beliefs.
Each member seeks out other men who share those same sentiments. In a very real sense, the Fraternity creates a
family relationship among its members.
We help to challenge each other in the areas of academics, physical strengths, and spiritual beliefs.
Lambda Chi Alpha is a large group of men trying to develop themselves in the educational world,
while preparing for the real world. Phi-Theta Zeta has been active on UNC-Greensboro's campus since our chapter's founding in 1983,
and remain steadfast in the beliefs that have been passed down since Warren A. Cole founded the general Fraternity in
1909. Lambda Chi's number 240,000 plus today, and there are chapters at more than 250 universities across the North American Continent.
At UNCG alone, we have in excess of 340 initiates.
Lambda Chi Alpha offers a unique alternative to traditional pledge programs. Our new members are NOT pledges, but rather they are
Associate Members. That means no hazing during any time of membership. We believe that every man deserves to be treated equal.
Hence, Associate members attend chapter meetings and have an equal vote in most chapter matters, as well have the privelege
of running for chapter offices or university positions. This is a rare privilege, which is not offered in traditional pledge programs. Lambda Chi Alpha
strives to promote it's individualism.
Though other Fraternities may claim to offer you programs of equal or greater caliber, We gurantee that no other new member program is as comprehensive
as that Offered in Lambda Chi Alpha. Phi-Theta Zeta is at the forefront of the new member education process, and works closely with their international headquarters
and the University to bring only the best in programming and support to each member. Becoming a new member begins a journey, and thus Lambda Chi Alpha offers you "The Great Passage."
The Fraternal World's Most powerful experience begins with Lambda Chi Alpha, and lasts for a lifetime.
If you are interested in joining our fraternity; a parent of a prospect, associate, or brother; or a member of the
bond either undergraduate or alumni, we hope you will find useful information here. If at any time you have
questions, please feel free to contact the general chapter.
The Creed of Lambda Chi Alpha
We beleive in Lambda Chi Alpha, and its traditions, principles and ideals. The crescent is our symbol;
pure, high, ever growing, and the cross is our guide; denoting service, sacrifice, and
even suffering and humiliation before the world, bravely endured if need be, in following that ideal.
May we have faith in Lambda Chi Alpha and passion for its welfare. May we have hope for the future of
Lambda Chi Alpha and strength to fight for its teachings. May we have pure hearts that we may approach
the ideal of perfect brotherly love.
