Current Honor of University Marshals Becoming a University Marshal at the beginning of a new century is just as great an honor as was intended by the founders. Less than 1% of the undergraduate student body attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro attain such a rank. The invitation to become a University Marshal is extended to Chancellor’s List honorees. These individuals must achieve 30 or more semester hours at UNCG, or in the case of a transfer student, completing at least one semester of enrollment; having a cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or higher; and being presently enrolled in 12 or more semester hours. They must then apply and are selected by a student, faculty and staff committee based upon application and willingness to serve the University. In addition to acting as the University’s hosts/hostesses at major functions, such as Convocation and Commencement in May and December, University Marshals also have the opportunity to undertake other service to the University. |
