Executive Board

President: Jaren Troutman
 
  • The Neo-Black Society President shall serve on the Main Executive Board
  • Preside over all Executive Board and General Body meetings
  • Act as an ex-officio member of all the entities
  • Act as the spokesperson for NBS in all cases where organization representation is required or requested
  • Attend annual budgetary meeting with Business Manager(s)
  • Sign and approve all event proposals before the main liaison(s) return them to the perspective committee chair
  • Review all letters of purpose
  • Reinstate members into NBS
  • Present and conduct along with the Executive Board a yearly mandatory office training workshop

 

1st Vice President:
 
  • First Vice-President shall serve on the Main Executive Board
  • Perform the duties of the President in his/her absence or at his/her request and to assume all duties in the event of his/her resignation or impeachment
  • Be the main liaison of all performing entities
  • Monitor and evaluate all programs by performing entities and to make necessary decisions needed for the efficiency and effectiveness of the committees in the absence or probation of both committee chair and co-chair
  • Assign and approve performing groups event proposals within the week of receiving before giving it to the President)
  • Inform performing entities chairs of topics and decisions discussed in the Main Executive Board meeting no later than twenty-four hours of the adjournment
  • Arrange a monthly calendar for the use of the Executive Board and the General Body
  • Assume the position of the chair/co-chair until one is replaced

 

2nd Vice President:
 
  • Second Vice-President shall serve on the Main Executive Board
  • Perform the duties of the President/First Vice-President in his/her absence or at his/her request and to assume all duties in the event of his/her resignation or impeachment
  • Serve as the main liaison of all standing entities
  • Monitor and evaluate all programs by standing committees and to make necessary decisions needed for the efficiency and effectiveness of the committees in the absence or probation of both committee chair and co-chair
  • Assign and approve standing entities event proposals within the week of receiving before giving it to the President
  • Inform standing entities chairs of topics and decisions discussed in the Main Executive Board meeting no later than twenty-four hours of the adjournment
  • Assume the position of the chair/co-chair until one is replaced
  • responsible for maintaining Executive Board office hours
  • Arrange a monthly calendar for the use of the Executive Board and the General Body in consultation with the First Vice-President

 

Recording Secretary
 
  • Record all minutes of the Executive Board and General Body Meetings
  • Maintain a accumulated yearly record in the NBS office
  • Maintain a permanent yearly file of all attendance records and written reports, statements, and resolutions
  • Notify all active members and their committee chairs that they are now on a probationary period no later than twenty-four hours of accusations
  • Be a liaison between the President, nominees, and elected officers

 

Corresponding Secretary:
 
  • Serve as a liaison between the reservation and transportation offices
  • Approve all group reservations or outside transportation arrangements within the week of submission
  • Compile a yearly spreadsheet of entities reservations, purpose and capacity to be kept in the NBS office for future usage
  • Maintain accurate records of all business correspondence
  • Coordinate all room and transportation reservations

 

Business Manager Chair:
 
  • Report the financial status of NBS to the Executive Board and make available a complete record of finances
  • Serve as the only authorized signer of all expenditures with the consent of the Administrative Advisor
  • Compile, with the assistance of the Executive Board, the budget requests for the upcoming year and present that request to SGA
  • Attend mandatory Budgetary Informational meetings sponsored by the Office of Student Life
  • Serve as a co-representative for all Appropriation Committee Requests of the Student Government
  • Submit a biweekly report to the President, Recording Secretary and Administrative Advisor
  • Conduct a mandatory Budgetary Workshop outside of Executive Board meeting for anyone in NBS five weeks into every semester

 

Business Manager Co-Chair
 
  • Shall serve on the Executive Council
  • Assist the business manager in all duties
  • Oversee fundraising
  • Shall serve as Chair of the Finance Committee

 

Parliamentarian:
 
  • Maintain order during the Executive Board and General Body Meetings
  • Maintain and upkeep the lounge and office spaces
  • Make all constitutional changes to the Constitution in a timely manner
  • Conduct a mandatory Parliamentarian workshop outside of Executive Board meeting for anyone in NBS five weeks into every semester
  • Review all committees revised constitutions to make sure it is in line with the NBS constitution
  • Report all invalid constitutions to President first and then committee chairs

 

SGA Senator:
 
  • Must attend all SGA meetings (committee and general assembly)
  • To serve as a liaison between NBS and SGA
  • Report to the Executive Board and the General Body all pertinent information concerning the university, SGA, and NBS
  • Submit a weekly report to the President, Recording Secretary, and Administrative Advisor
  • Provide updated constitution and bylaws of SGA

 

Historian:
 
  • Shall be chair/co-chair of the Alumni Committee
  • Maintain the archives of NBS through pictures, slideshows, videos, scrapbooks and also cultural library along with Black Heritage
  • Maintain NBS files in the NBS office and a copy in the university archives
  • Prepare the NBS yearbook layout in consultation with Black Heritage and Publicity
  • Maintain the storage facility of NBS
    Any member that needs to utilize this facility must contact the Historian(s) twenty-four hours in advance for access
