Doug Hewitt is an author of speculative fiction.
He was born and raised in
Mt.
Clemens
,
Michigan
, and
after a stint in the Marine Corps, moved to
North Carolina
, where he
began his writing career.
With over 60 short stories in print, Doug has published
in the horror, fantasy, and science fiction genres.
He has been published in anthologies such as Maelstrom,
The Dead Inn, and 100 Wicked Little Witch Stories.
At Stellarcon 29, the premier
issue of Apex Digest debuted. Apex
Digest features one of Doug’s favorite stories, A
Place In The Sun. Apex
Digest features science fiction stories that are dark in
nature, with a blend of horror, which is right up Doug’s
alley. Not quite
in time for Stellarcon 29, Doug’s chapbook Slipstream
was published by Scrybe Press.
The anthology Bleed
My Heart Romantic with his short story Type B Breakout
is set to be released by Rage Machine Books for Stellarcon 30.
Doug hopes to have additional releases ready for the
conference, including a story in the highly acclaimed magazine
The Book Of Dark Wisdom.
In addition to short stories,
Doug has written several novels.
He had his first novel published in 2002 by Sands
Publishing. SPEAR
is a suspense thriller that received excellent reviews.
The Midwest Book Review calls SPEAR
an “exciting, multilayered, and ultimately deadly saga.”
Doug’s agent is currently hard at work trying to find homes
for his other writing projects, most notably The
Dead Guy, in which the protagonist is facing a murder
investigation with an immense problem.
He’s not only the investigator, he’s also the
victim and most noticeably dead!
Doug
has recently signed a contract to make many of his best
published stories available on the Internet. These
reprints, including the original version of SPEAR, will
be available at www.fictionwise.com.
