Sean
K. Reynolds was born in a coastal town in southern California. After a brief stint as the
webmaster for a small videogame company, he took a job as
TSR's webmaster in 1996. Two years later he moved to Washington
state when Wizards of the
Coast bought TSR, and shortly thereafter started working as an
AD&D designer and participated in the 1998 relaunch of the
Greyhawk campaign setting. He transitioned to the
Forgotten Realms line at the end of 2nd edition AD&D and
worked on the 3rd edition D&D Monster Manual as
well as the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting and other
Forgotten Realms books.
Sean
left Wizards in 2002 to move to
California
and develop Forgotten
Realms games for Interplay. He left Interplay in 2004 when
that company imploded, started his own one-man game company
(Sean K Reynolds Games) so he could write and publish whatever
he wanted (such projects include a Greek-themed sourcebook
called The New Argonauts and a lycanthrope sourcebook
called Curse of the Moon), and joined the team at Upper
Deck's entertainment division to develop new properties for
cartoons and card games.
He
moved to the East Coast in 2005 with his girlfriend and pets,
cementing the early stages of his plans for world domination.
He spends his free time reading, painting miniatures, and
writing short autobiographies.
