          Wiccan Pagan Student Association 

Article II: Mission Statement         

The Wiccan Pagan Student Association is dedicated to helping pagans find others of like mind in the Greensboro community, creating a forum for the sharing of ideas and beliefs that offer support to pagans on campus and in the community, and promoting connections with area organizations.

Article III: Membership 

Section I: Eligibility 

Membership in this organization is open to anyone, whether they are community members or students of UNCG. Prospective members are encouraged to have an open mind and be willing to work with and to learn from others in the organization. Student members must be in good standing with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro . 

Section II: Removal of a member: 

Membership is open. However head officers reserve the right to expel members and guests for public disturbances, unruly or inappropriate conduct. 

Section III: Membership Requirements: 

Once an individual has attended two (2) consecutive meetings of the Wiccan Pagan Student Association at any point they are considered a member. However to maintain member status each member must do one presentation to the organization. The President must approve the subject prior to the presentation. 

Part I: Member Removal 

If a member misses more than four meetings in a row without prior notification, their membership is “pending”. The council will then meet with that member and determine whether or not that member has to repeat the initial membership requirement.

Article IV: Head Officers and Council Structure 

Section I: Head Officers 

Part 1: President 

The President is voted into office by the entire general body and is required to be a student in good standing with the University (2.5 GPA or higher.) 

Part II: Vice President 

The Vice President is voted in after the President in the same manner with the same requirements. 

Part III: Parliamentarian, Secretary, & Treasurer         

These offices will be voted in after the Vice President in the above order. The Treasurer is required to be a student due to the handling of organizational funds. The remaining offices do not need to be students. If they are students the same requirements apply. 

Section II: Council 

Part I: Structure of the Council

If membership exceeds 15 members a council will be appointed through nomination and majority vote. The Council will function as a means of resolving internal conflicts. The council will consist of three (3) student and three (3) non-student members. The members will be nominated and voted on by the remaining general body. The council, as a whole, is considered part of the executive board. 

Section III: Head Officers and Council Interactions 

The Head Officers and the Council will work together at all times. All decisions will be made and/or approved by both groups. This relationship creates the Executive Board. 

Section IV: Removal of an Officer or Council Representative 

To remove a council member the member can petition the President and/or Vice President in written form. This petition will be discussed between the two officers and addressed at the following meeting. In the event that a council is present, the remaining council members will preside and under the President and Vice President, decide the course of action.

Article V: Meetings 

Section I: Schedule of Meetings 

Wiccan Pagan Student Association shall meet weekly if needed. The President with information of the general body will decide when and where the meeting will be held. The President holds the right to cancel a meeting if one is not necessary. 

Section II: Special Meetings 

The President or Vice President may call special meetings. Other officers and council members will also be able to call emergency meetings but must clear it with the President and Vice President first. 

Section III: Quorum 

If more then 50% of the members are not at a meeting quorum may be called. If a vote is necessary that day the executive board, if all are present, may vote regardless of attendence. 

Section IV: Executive Board Meetings 

Executive Board meetings will be held separate from member meetings at least once every month.

Article VI: Finances

Section I: Finances

Finances will be used for the club-sponsored events and activities, materials and supplies needed for club management and activities, etc. 

Section II: Finance vote 

All members are eligible to vote on Full Member Body votes. Money matter votes will be voted in the Executive Board, Council members representing their party (Student or Non-Student) after discussing matters with them. 

Section III: Dues 

Dues will not be collected but contributions (monetary or otherwise) may be accepted. The President and/or Vice President have the option of refusing any contribution to the Wiccan Pagan Student Association. 

Section IV: Financial Statements 

The organization shall file detailed financial statements on earnings in accordance with University and State policies. 

Section V: Handling Organizational Money 

Only the Treasurer or President may store the organizational money.

Article VII: Yearly Organizational Requirement 

Section I: Organizational and Educational activities. 

The Wiccan Pagan Student Association must complete one of the following per year: a fundraiser, a campus lecture, and a community or campus event. Also once a week for every month a member must have a discussion topic, approved by the President prior. 

Article VIII: Advisor(s)  

Section I: Advisor(s) duties. 

The Advisor(s) shall encourage member activity and advise officers while attending at least two (2) meetings a semester. 

Article VIIII: Amending 

Section I: Rule for Amendment 

This constitution may be amended by means of a 2/3 rd majority vote.
