Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies and Interior Archetecture students recently took part in a community service project to revamp the way a local Salvation Army store serves their customers. In this group project students came up with suggestions and proposals to improve the store's appearance, layout and merchandising practices so that it can better meet the needs of the community it serves. These proposals became the plan for a major remodel of the Family Store thrift shop on West Market Street, here in Greensboro. Proceeds from sales at the store go toward the Greensboro Boys and Girls Clubs and the Center of Hope. As a department we are very proud of the students who chose to be involved in this project.
To read what local media had to say about this event, check out recent articles in The Business Journal, Campus Weekly and this article on the University Relations Page.
