The mission of the CARS department is to provide excellent undergraduate and graduate education [in consumer, apparel, and retailing studies], produce relevant scholarship that contributes to our discipline’s knowledge base, and impact the well being of individuals and the community.

        Enhance UG curricular offerings

  1. Infuse global/multicultural/diversity competencies throughout curricular offerings.
  2. Incorporate the use of appropriate technology in instruction and learning
  3. Enhance internship and co-op program opportunities
  4. Enhance student enrichment opportunities (e.g., study abroad, international exchange programs, domestic study trips)

    Recruitment

  5. Engage in recruitment activities to increase enrollment in both undergraduate and graduate programs

  6. Recruit, develop, promote, and reward faculty whose goals and career aspirations are consistent with the mission of the CARS department
