Applications for Student Teaching

Before submitting an application for student teaching, candidates must meet the requirements of their licensure programs.

Candidates must have been admitted to Teacher Education.

Programs require a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or better. Candidates should know the GPA requirement of their programs.

In addition, programs may have additional requirements related to coursework, clinical experiences and other prerequisites for students teaching. Again, candidates should know these requirements and meet them before they apply for student teaching.

Applications for student teaching should be submitted no less than one full semester before the student teaching semester.

Application deadline for student teaching in the spring semester: February 15 of the preceding spring semester.

Application deadline for student teaching in the fall semester: November 1of the preceding spring semester.

Note: Late applications may be approved on an individual basis. Applications after the last day of drop/add of the semester preceding student teaching will not be approved.

Student teaching applications should be downloaded at the Office of Student Services website and returned to the Office of Student Services student teaching coordinator.
