Admission to Graduate Teacher Education

Preparation for Application to the Teachers Academy

For admission to teacher education, prospective candidates are expected to explore their options and make certain they meet minimum requirements before turning in an application.

For information on graduate teacher education programs, please consult the program coordinators page on this website for a list of master's level licensure subject areas and contact information.

Candidates should read and comply with the rules, regulations and procedures as described in the Teachers Academy handbook and website, departmental handbooks and website and the appropriate UNCG Graduate Bulletin.

Application Requirements

Candidates who are admitted to a master's program in teacher education at UNCG are also admitted to the Teachers Academy. The Graduate School will notify the Teachers Academy about the admission.

Candidates are required to request a criminal records check through Background Investigation Bureau after the process is finalized by the Teachers Academy. At that time, candidates will complete a request form and pay the fees for this review.

Additional information about this process will be forwarded to candidates when it is available. Candidates should not proceed with this review until they are notified by the Teachers Academy or their program coordinator
