Dedicated Drama Teachers!
UNCG Theatre announces its sixth annual SUPER SATURDAY event on November 14, 2009, on the campus of the University of North Carolina Greensboro. High School theatre students (All levels are invited this year!), and teachers are invited to attend workshops in a variety of areas of theatre artistry.
Super Saturday guests will attend one (two hour) or two (one hour) workshops and a special 2:00 pm matinee performance of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe in Taylor Theatre. Lunch is available at venues on both Tate and Spring Garden streets, and in the main dining places on campus. Students will be responsible for their own lunch plans and cost (menus and suggestions will be provided at registration). Campus tours and consultations with UNCG Theatre faculty and possibly UNCG Admission Representatives will be available (if requested in advance).
For teachers, there will be a unique seminar on Performance or Production & Teaching, where UNCG Theatre professors will address and answer questions on the most difficult components of producing quality theatre at the secondary level and offer quick and long-term solutions.
Registration is required. Please fill out the reservation form (enclosed in this packet – make as many copies as you need). The cost of attending is $10.00 per student. **There are several scholarship positions available. Please contact Neil Shepherd at (336) 334-4032 if you have a student you would like to nominate for scholarship attendance. There is no fee for teachers to attend the event, and UNCG Theatre will provide 2 tickets per school, at no cost for parents/chaperones. Additional parents or chaperones would have to pay the $10.00 fee to cover the cost of the performance ticket.
