Business of the Department

Strategic Planning

Strategic Planning for UNCG is done primarily through the University Planning Council, headed by the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Planning. UNCG is now operating under the second five year UNCG Plan (2003-2008) developed through the campus-wide process established by the UPC and approved by the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees in August, 2003. Departments contribute to the UNCG Plan by

  1. Reviewing, discussing, and commenting on the draft plans as they are developed.
  2. By developing specific goals, objectives, emphases, and metrics for the department under the umbrella of the UNCG Plan.
  3. By contributing to the development of plans for their unit.
