UNCG faculty, staff, and students with faculty authorization, who borrow equipment from the University Teaching & Learning Center (UTLC), assume all liability for the care and operation of the loaned equipment. The borrower will be held liable for replacement and related fees should equipment become damaged, lost, or stolen. The UTLC Equipment Coordinator and Associate Director will be responsible for determining repair and/or replacement costs. If repair costs are prohibitive or unavailable, the borrower is responsible for replacement with comparable equipment at current market value. All equipment is inspected prior to being loaned and after it’s returned by a UTLC media technician. Normal wear and tear is expected and is not considered within the definition of damaged equipment.
The person or their designee who signs the equipment reservation card assumes full responsibility for using the equipment as it is intended. Likewise, they are responsible for the care, and safe return of the equipment by the negotiated due date.
This policy in effect as of: 12/19/08
