Reservations for instructional materials may be made up to one year in advance. Instructors may request delivery of these materials to their departmental office by scheduling before 11 am of the expected delivery day, or they may pick up materials at the circulation desk. Materials picked up at the TLC must be returned to the TLC. Delivery staff will not retrieve this material. Instructional materials may be checked out for a maximum of one week. Videotapes in the Browsing Collection are loaned to faculty, staff, and students for one week. A valid UNCG ID is required. Items in this entertainment collection are not reserved or delivered. Materials in this collection may be used in face-to-face teaching. Due to copyright restrictions, entertainment videotapes may not be used with groups in dorms, or by clubs and other organizations. See Nanny Foster or Cathy Rothermel if you would like to use these materials for classroom instruction.
Overdue charges are $1 per day per tape. Charges are due and payable in full at the TLC Information Desk when tapes are returned. Partial payments are not accepted.
Borrowers who return tapes but do not pay overdue charges will be billed within two weeks for these charges plus a $5 billing fee. The maximum fine is $10 per tape plus the $5 billing fee. Lost tapes will be billed at the original cost plus $15 to cover the processing and billing fees.
Borrowers with overdue tapes or unpaid bills may not check out additional videotapes.
Bills that are fourteen days overdue will be sent to the UNCG Cashier's Office for collection. Bills forwarded to the Cashier's Office must be paid at that office.
Students, faculty, and staff must show a valid UNCG ID when checking out materials and equipment. Students with a valid UNCG ID may book instructional film and video materials for viewing in the TLC. Students who wish to use instructional materials in their classes must bring a memo on departmental letterhead from their instructor. Browsing Collection titles circulate to studentsand staff who have a valid UNCG ID and who have completed the necessary forms indicating their compliance with TLC circulation policy.
TLC materials and instructor-owned video materials will be placed on closed reserve at faculty request for a period not to exceed three weeks. Materials which are in violation of current copyright law will not be accepted for closed reserve. See Copyright.

Videotapes donated to the TLC will be reviewed to determine if they contain information which supports the academic programs offered by UNCG, present accurate information, and conform to acceptable production standards. The TLC reserves the right to determine whether a gift will be added to the collection, where it will be located, and how it will be made accessible. The TLC also reserves the right to dispose of inappropriate or duplicate gift items.
Bookings for all video materials will not exceed one week without special permission.

TLC acquires new materials for classroom instruction based on faculty recommendations. All materials costing more than $200 must be previewed prior to purchase. Faculty, staff, and students may request the purchase of items for the entertainment collection. Call Nanny Foster at 4-5302 or email Nanny_Foster@uncg.edu to request video purchases.
The TLC catalog may be accessed from the Web on campus at http://library.uncg.edu/utlc. In addition, there are computers in the TLC dedicated to this purpose. Although we cannot supply a complete printed catalog, faculty may request printouts of specific subject categories.
