As you've been channel surfing on cable television or flipping through one of your favorite magazines, chances are you've seen none other than UNCG. Advertisements promoting the university have been running on the Time Warner Cable Network and in regional distributions of high-profile magazines in Charlotte, Raleigh and the Triad.
The 30-second spot is a high-energy, visually-appealing ad that grabs viewers with rhythmic music and vibrant campus images. The commercial has been airing on ESPN, MTV, VH1, TNT, CNN, AE, CMT and the Comedy Channel.
Local sports fans can also catch the spot on the jumbotron at Greensboro's First Horizon Ball Park during each baseball season. If you haven't seen the spot, you can still check it out here at YouTube.com. We invite you to add a comment, rate the spot and pass it on.
You'll also want to take a look at the university's magazine ads. This is the third straight year ads have been placed in Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, US News and World Report, Our State and Signature. Our ads are aimed at raising awareness of the innovative programs that demonstrate UNCG's commitment to the Triad and beyond.
The 2007 ad series has a new component different from years past. The ads point readers to a web site where they can learn more about each of the featured programs. If you'd like to know more, the site should be easy to remember. Just visit knowmore.uncg.edu.
How does the university know the ads are working? According to Marketing Director Debbie Schallock, UNCG participates in the annual Roper readership survey. For two straight years, UNCG's ads have ranked in the top ten for recall of ad, recall of advertiser and most-read ad.
