When you return to campus, get ready to be greeted by changes to Elliott University Center's front yard. The west lawn of the EUC is being turned into an informal commons area with new plantings, wooden benches, seating walls and sculptures. Read more about the new Kaplan Commons.
Being a member of UNCG's 20 fraternities and sororities means only having fun, right? Not exactly. Last year, the nearly 600 members of Greek-affiliated organizations logged more than 5,000 hours devoted to service projects and raised more than $21,000 for 50 philanthropies. In February, for the first time, the university presented Greek Legacy Alumni Leadership Awards to five alumni for community service and contributions to UNCG. They also honored two undergraduates. Read more about the Greek Legacy Initiative and what it means for future Greeks.
We all know someone who has made a difference, whether in their job, in their neighborhood or in the world at large. Now it's time to give them some recognition. Read more about nominating someone for the next Young Alumni Award.
While FallFest is the big draw next month, there are still plenty of other things to put on your calendar. Get ready for a Day in Pompeii in Charlotte, the annual Bryan School Golf Tournament and Founders Day celebrations in October. Learn more about these and other upcoming events.
