Spartan basketball on the rise

Basketball fans — get ready to take it to the next level. At a high-energy press event, Chancellor Linda P. Brady announced steps to increase the visibility of UNCG athletics, which includes moving the men's basketball program to the Greensboro Coliseum beginning with the 2009-10 season. Read more about what's in store.

After a news conference announcing that the Greensboro Coliseum will become the home court for men's basketball next year, cheerleaders take a look at a composite image of the new Spartan court.

We bleed blue and gold

You've seen the sports clothing stores. They're full of light blue or dark blue or even red. How about some Spartan blue and gold? If you look around, few merchants carry UNCG spirit wear. UNCG wants to change that. Read more about how you can help.

Seeking nominations

Do you know an alumnus who has made a difference? Nominate them for the Alumni Distinguished Service Award or the Young Alumni Award. Read more about the kind of alumni we're seeking.

Ornament your tree with the Alumni House

Many memories have taken place in the Alumni House since its dedication in 1937. From weddings to campus functions to a quiet “home” for students to study, the Alumni House has been a hub of campus life for decades. The Alumni House recently reopened her doors after an extensive 18 month renovation. To celebrate, a commemorative 2008 holiday ornament has been designed. Read more about the ornament.

Holiday greetings from the director

If your days are like mine right now, the minutes and hours pass far too quickly. I don't know what it is about the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas that propels us to be so frantically busy, but we all are, and I suppose we have to accept the fact that hectic schedules go hand-in-hand with the holiday season.
