House, sweet house

The boxes might still need unpacking, but the Alumni Relations Office is finally home.

The Alumni staff is back in the Alumni House after an 18-month hiatus. During that time, the house underwent extensive renovations — from adding bathrooms and reconfiguring walls to replacing the heating and air conditioning system. Beyond these fundamental changes, the house also had a face-lift of sorts, with repainted walls, reupholstered furniture and new lighting in some areas.

Great care was taken to maintain the character of the 1930s house. Many original pieces were restored.

All the furniture hasn't come back into the house yet, but as the summer moves on each piece that was carefully stored will return.

Public events in the house are not expected to resume until the fall. But if you want to visit a member of the Alumni Relations staff, just drop in downstairs across from the Horseshoe Room. Or if you would like to give them a call, the number is the same as ever — (336) 334-5696.
