November 2008
Chancellor Linda P. Brady is seeking your input on drafts of UNCG's new mission statement, which will ultimately set the tone for the future of the university. But be quick the deadline for feedback is Nov. 19. See her letter below:
Dear alumni
UNCG is engaged in two important parallel processes this year: UNCG's own strategic planning process and the development of a second response to the statewide UNC Tomorrow initiative which identified 21st century challenges facing our state. Central to both processes is a revision of UNCG's Vision and Mission Statements.
The Mission Statement Review Subcommittee of the Strategic Planning Committee is asking for feedback on the drafts of these statements from the entire UNCG community: faculty, staff, students, alumni, and members of the Piedmont Triad community. They will be posted on the UNCG Tomorrow web site (https://uncgtomorrow.uncg.edu/) beginning the morning of Thursday, Nov. 13 until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
After considering all feedback received, the subcommittee will revise the statements again and then will seek endorsement of them from the Student Government Association, Faculty and Staff Senates, Alumni Board, and the Board of Trustees. The Mission Statement must be submitted to UNC General Administration by Jan. 15. I urge you to respond to this important work-in-progress.
Linda P. Brady, PhD
Chancellor
