Marking a milestone

In 1967, a group of students began informally meeting and planning. The following year, the Neo Black Society was born. Now, it's time to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The Neo Black Society strives to make the university community aware and appreciative of African-American culture and achievements. The celebration, to be held on campus the weekend of Jan. 23-25, will include:

• Welcome reception
• Performances by the Dance Troupe, Drama Troupe and NBS choir by current students
• Panel Discussion with current and former NBS students
• Gala Awards Recognition Dinner including a performance by the NBS Reunion Choir
• Presentation of oral histories from alumni
• Worship service and farewell brunch
