Board of Vistors news:
New year, new leadership

The Board of Visitors recently got a good sense of how UNCG can help.

Under the new leadership of co-chairs David and Pam Sprinkle, the Board of Visitors kicked off the new school year with a reception and dinner on Sept. 30 and an opportunity to meet Chancellor Linda P. Brady, who was the featured speaker. Board members returned on the morning of Oct. 1 to hear presentations on how UNCG research is making a positive impact in our community and beyond.

Topics included:

• Why the Terrible Twos Don't [Usually] Last Forever, Dr. Susan Calkins, Department of Human Development and Family Studies & Department of Psychology, Coordinator of the UNCG Child and Family Research Network
• From Research to Practice: Improving Teaching and Learning in the Education Community, Dr. Ludy Van Broekhuizen, Executive Director, SERVE Center
• The Impact of Entrepreneurship Research: Making a Difference, Dr. Dianne H.B. Welsh, Charles A. Hayes Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship, Bryan School

On Feb. 5, the BOV will be invited to a pre-game social at the Greensboro Coliseum where UNCG's basketball team will take on Davidson. The next BOV meeting is scheduled for March 2, noon-2 p.m.
