Putting out fires

October is a time when the air gets nippy, and cozy fires seem like a natural fit for the season.

But be careful. October is designated as National Fire Safety Month. The UNCG Alumni Association and Liberty Mutual have teamed up to promote fire safety by giving away a trip for four to visit the interactive exhibit “Where's the Fire?” at Walt Disney World® as well as fire safety kits.

To enter to win the Be Fire Smart Sweepstakes — which starts Oct. 1 — complete an online entry form (http://www.libertymutualbfs.com/). Keep in mind the site will not go live until the sweepstakes start. When you do visit, no purchase or quote will be necessary. The goal is simply to help alumni live safer, more secure lives.

• Watch a fire prevention video
• Find additional resources to keep your family and home safe
