Extra, extra

Want to be in the know about the latest developments with hot campus issues? Turn to the web.

In an effort to keep everyone informed, UNCG has created informational web pages on the budget and the future of student housing.

Both sites have links to news, documents and additional information. The budget web site also gives readers an opportunity to subscribe to a listserv. With that, you can be notified of new information posted on the site. Information on the budget is ever-changing as the state struggles to pass a budget in the coming months.

The campus housing site comes with a message from the chancellor, which notes that a larger strategic plan addressing all student housing needs — and not just the Quad — is in the works. “This will include focus on the role of housing in the student learning experience, the critical mass of students we would like to house on campus based on projected enrollment growth, the role of learning communities and opportunities for student/faculty interaction within the residence halls, and the cost of improving UNCG's on-campus housing,” she writes.

Comments and questions concerning housing issues can be submitted by clicking the “send a message” email link on the chancellor's web page.

The university also has a site that keeps people informed about positive people and events on campus as well. Visit to read about things that make Spartans proud.
