Happy 117 birthday, UNCG

When you have a university with as much history and tradition as UNCG, it's good to take a moment to remember where you come from.

Join us Monday, Oct. 5, for Founders Day. The observance kicks off with a 1 p.m. ceremony at the statue of Charles Duncan McIver, the man who started it all, followed by a cake cutting.

Then meet at Elliott University Center Auditorium at 2 p.m. for a celebration of our traditions with university archivist Betty Carter. At 3 p.m., enjoy a Founders Day reception just outside the EUC auditorium.

Throughout the day, UNCG will honor alumni and pay special tribute to the dedicated members of the Harriet Elliott Society — those who have made gifts to the university for 25 or more consecutive years.

Complimentary parking will be available in the Oakland Avenue Parking Deck.
