September 2009
When you have a university with as much history and tradition as UNCG, it's good to take a moment to remember where you come from.
Join us Monday, Oct. 5, for Founders Day. The observance kicks off with a 1 p.m. ceremony at the statue of Charles Duncan McIver, the man who started it all, followed by a cake cutting.
Then meet at Elliott University Center Auditorium at 2 p.m. for a celebration of our traditions with university archivist Betty Carter. At 3 p.m., enjoy a Founders Day reception just outside the EUC auditorium.
Throughout the day, UNCG will honor alumni and pay special tribute to the dedicated members of the Harriet Elliott Society those who have made gifts to the university for 25 or more consecutive years.
Complimentary parking will be available in the Oakland Avenue Parking Deck.
Coming to the reception? Let us know. Email rsvp@uncg.edu or call (336) 334-4583.
