Back to school, alumni style
With August comes the flurry of back to school excitement — new students, new classes, new energy. But don't forget — you can come back to school too. Homecoming is just around the corner, after all.
Starting Sept. 20 and culminating with all-day festivities on Saturday, Sept. 25, Homecoming has something for everyone. Enjoy hearing Karla Davis '08 perform songs from her debut album. Let your children bounce on inflatables, play games or get their faces painted. Get charged for the big game with a pep rally and parade. And end the day cheering the Spartans in their match against Wake Forest.
Look forward to live music and performances at Spartan Village much like this Step and Stroll exhibition at last year's event.
Circle Sept. 20-25 on your calendar, talk it up with your friends and start gathering your blue and gold for Homecoming.
Here's a brief overview of what's in store:
- Sept. 20 — Founders Day Celebration, Randall Jarrell Poetry Competition, Student Cake Decorating Contest, Campus Tours
- Sept. 24 — Bryan School Alumni Reception and the “not-to-be missed” alumni-student Rugby game
- Sept. 25 — Reunion Gatherings for UNCG classes ending in 0 and 5 (and that includes brand-new grads from the Class of 2010), Greek Alumni Reunion, Russian Studies Reunion, Children's Festival, Family Weekend, Spartan Village, UNCG vs. WFU Men's Soccer, Step Show and ending with the All-Black (attire) Party at the Lotus Lounge.
