August 2010
Last year, UNCG began by declaring a few Fridays Blue & Gold days on campus. This year, we're doing one better it's Blue & Gold Day every Friday.
In an effort to promote Spartan pride, students, faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to wear the school colors.
The momentum started building last fall. Hundreds of Spartan T-shirts which read I bleed blue and gold were distributed in Elliott University Center. Chancellor Linda P. Brady greeted students, faculty and staff with the free T-shirts.
If you find your closet is a little lacking in the blue and gold arena, visit blueandgold.uncg.edu to find a list of retailers that carry UNCG merchandize.
And here's another change worth cheering. All athletic events with the exception of men's and women's basketball are free this year.
So wear your Spartan colors with pride this Friday and every Friday and make plans to take your family to a free game. It's good to be a Spartan.
