March 2010

Only a month away

In April, the campus will be full of its spring finery and welcoming Reunioners. Old friends will greet one another with hugs and tales of what they've been up to over the years. They will tour campus with an eye toward how much has changed and yet how much has remained the same. And they will sing the old songs, make new friends and leave with renewed love for Woman's College/UNCG. Read more about what's in store and how you can register.

Mary Wolf Sutton '59, D'Ann Welch Hanna '59, Nancy Jones Allen '59 (in the purple jacket) and Sue Dudley Weant '59 share a laugh in Taylor Garden during last year's Reunion.

Guaranteeing success

Last month, UNCG announced its new scholarship program, the UNCG Guarantee. Now, alumni are being asked to provide a pivotal piece for its success — mentorship. Read more about how you can help.

Start spreading the news

Considering a trip to the Big Apple? If you travel the weekend of May 1-3, you can experience a little taste of UNCG. Two UNCG alumni — Chris Chalk '01 and Beth Leavel '80 MFA — are performing on Broadway and allowing alumni an inside look at the actor's life. Read more about this trip.

Take three

UNCG has a new initiative that will allow highly motivated students to graduate in just three years. The program, called UNCG in 3, is designed for the growing number of high school seniors who enter the university with transferable college credit. Read more about this new program.

Denim duty

Have you cleaned your closet lately? Found any old jeans or denim jackets you want to get rid of? You can declutter and help the homeless all in one step. Read more about how your jeans can keep a Habitat for Humanity house snug and warm.
