March 2010
Have you cleaned your closet lately? Found any old jeans or denim jackets you want to get rid of? You can declutter and help the homeless all in one step.
Denim can be broken down and used in Habitat for Humanity houses for insulation, making it economically efficient, as well as environmentally-safe. By helping Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Spring Garden Apartments, Circle K and the Office of Reduction and Recycling, you can witness your denim products help the lives of others.
Nearly 200 pairs of jeans have been collected so far. The goal is at least 500 pairs.
To donate your denim, contact Robert Watson, residence life coordinator, at (336) 256-0525 or email rcwatson@uncg.edu.
