June 2011
High school may have just ended, but many incoming freshmen are already feeling excited and and a little nervous about coming to UNCG in the fall.
To ease the transition, the Office of Alumni Relations is looking for volunteers to help organize summer send-offs.
Essentially, these are parties where incoming students and their families can get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere and talk with alumni and current students about their experiences. After all someone needs to tell them to go straight to Yum Yum on their first day, right?
Organizers will need to recommend a location for the gathering whether it be a home, neighborhood clubhouse or park. And most events will occur in July along the East Coast, where the highest concentration of incoming students live.
