Send-off in style

High school may have just ended, but many incoming freshmen are already feeling excited and and a little nervous about coming to UNCG in the fall.

To ease the transition, the Office of Alumni Relations is looking for volunteers to help organize summer send-offs.

Essentially, these are parties where incoming students and their families can get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere and talk with alumni and current students about their experiences. After all — someone needs to tell them to go straight to Yum Yum on their first day, right?

Organizers will need to recommend a location for the gathering — whether it be a home, neighborhood clubhouse or park. And most events will occur in July along the East Coast, where the highest concentration of incoming students live.
